Two people have been arrested in Kasese district for masquerading as security officers

The suspects have allegedly been extorting money from members of the public using the names of security personnel and promising to help them access various officers of government.

One suspect has been identified as Isaac Kamalha, a resident of Railway Ward in the Central Division of Kasese Municipality while details of the second suspect have been concealed for security reasons.

The Regional Community Liaisons Officer, Luke Mbusa said Kamalaha has been impersonating the Gombolola Internal Security Officer for the Central Division, Kasese Municipality.

Mbusa said the second suspect has been disguising as a staff of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligenc

The suspects are reported to have been hanging around the RDC’s premises possibly to hoodwink their victims.

Enid Ninsiima, the GISO for the Central Division who is the major complainant in a case against Kamalha told the press that on Friday last week, the suspect illegally attended a workshop organized by Great Lakes Peace Centre at the Central Division Council Hall and signed on the attendance list as a GISO of the area

The GISO also confided to our reporter that the suspect is also accused of reaching out to one of the schools in Kasese town and extorting money from one of the proprietors in the name of Kasese Resident District Commissioner #CityNewsUpdates
