Body of Unidentified Woman Dumped in Jinja City

Police in the Kiira region are investigating circumstances under which an unidentified woman was killed and her body dumped in Mailo-mbili along the Jinja-Iganga highway

The deceased was found lying in the drainage channel by early morning traders who notified the police

Big sticks, pieces of clothing and grass were inserted in her private parts, raising suspicion about the motive of the killers

Jacob Musisi, a resident says that the area where the body was dumped is unsafe during late night hours, with groups of gangs wayling road users to steal valuables from them

Musisi suspects that the killers first robbed property from the woman, and repeatedly raped her. 

Musisi says that suspected gangs take advantage of the black spots to attack their victims

Mariam Nankwanga says that the area is surrounded by a bush, making it a haven for suspected criminals, who easily flee after attacking their victims

Nankwanga now wants Jinja city authorities to install security lights in the area

The Kiira regional police spokesperson, James Mubi says that investigations are ongoing
