The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has hailed the late Cecilia Atim Ogwal as a prayer warrior, wise counselor, and unifying national figure.

The Archbishop, who concluded his pastoral tour of Lango Sub-region, paid a solemn visit to Cecilia Ogwal’s final resting place at her marital home in Alito Sub-county, Kole District.

He was accompanied by the Bishop of Lango Diocese, Prof. Alfred Olwa, and Chairpersons of Laity from both Lango and West Lango dioceses. While laying a wreath and leading prayers at her grave, Archbishop Kaziimba praised Ogwal for her unwavering faith and role as a peacemaker during moments of political tension.

Archbishop Kaziimba remembered her not only as a devout Anglican, but also as a pillar of national unity, especially now as the country heads into a general election.

He urged Ugandans to uphold the values Cecilia stood for: unity, forgiveness, and national healing.

Cecilia’s husband, Lameck Ogwal, also shared moving memories of his late wife, describing her as a devoted family woman whose life was rooted in prayer.
