40 Arrested in City Operation
At least 42 suspected criminals have been arrested in a city crackdown.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango said that the suspects were apprehended in an intelligence-led operation conducted jointly by the Uganda Police Force and the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF).
The suspects were arrested in a crackdown targeting crime hotspots, specifically in areas such as Nakivubo channel, New Taxi Park, Namayiba Bus Park, and Namungona near the Northern Bypass last night.
Onyango said the operation targeted thugs involved in robberies and marijuana smokers, resulting in the arrest of 42 suspects.
The suspects are currently detained at various police stations pending court proceedings
