Kiira Police Urges Women to Take Up Sports Amid Rising Marital Tensions
Police in the Kiira region are encouraging women to engage in sporting activities to maintain their physical and mental health. This advice follows a surge in complaints from married couples in areas like Mpummude, Mafubira, and Buwenge, where men have been returning home late, often citing sports viewing as the reason.
SP James Mubi, the Kiira Region Police PRO, noted that this has led to increased tension and family breakdowns. He suggests that women in Jinja City participate in sports, not only to stay healthy but also to address these issues and perhaps uncover the truth behind their husbands’ late returns. Mubi also pointed out that most sports events do not extend late into the night, casting doubt on the men’s claims.
