WEST NILE EDUCATION STAKEHOLDERS CONCERNED OVER EXAM-ORIENTED LEARNING
By Spurb Ernest

Education stakeholders in West Nile have raised concerns over the current education system, which arranges enabling learners to pass examinations rather than preparing them for real-life challenges.
This came up during an education conference organized by Ayivu Division, aimed at formulating strategies to enhance education quality and performance in the region.
Rev. Dr. Picho Epiphany, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Muni University, urged all stakeholders to take responsibility in improving the quality of education to facilitate development.
Agnes Topacho, an educationist in West Nile, acknowledged that many institutions focus solely on preparing learners to pass exams but warned that this will have long-term negative effects.
Meanwhile, Ayivu Division Town Clerk, Geoffrey Magoba, urged councils to pass laws that can help improve the sector, emphasizing the need for community involvement.
